It also supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes this robot vacuum best vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot robots that vacuum and mop can wash mop pads in a self-cleaning manner).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop that has a perfect 10 in our testing due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to use. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite loud, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are similarly capable and look better. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's more expensive and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a variety of sophisticated features that will let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dry mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It is more efficient in its navigation than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its automatic vacuum cleaner and mop has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to complete the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas are.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a zones or spot cleaning modes. This lets you tell the robot which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or create a spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app has a range of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
