Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had a harder edge than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing proficiency was evident in the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature.
